Well, I have completed an over 7000 mile circular trip round 26 States of the USA in the Beast car ............. and hopefully made some worthwhile pictures :-))
I have met some really fantastic people on the way ......... seen some amazing natural landscapes and some surprising man made things too ..........
Stayed in numerous marvelous and some slightly grim motels ......... even slept in the car on more than one night ......... had 2 different incidents with deer on the road ........... numerous vague incidents with cops......... my fave vague cop incident being the almost ticket for the offense of having a 'dream catcher' ..........
The trip through Oklahoma coincided with two tornados....... One being possibly the most powerful and devastating tornado to ever be measured resulting in terrible destruction and devastating loss of life........ that was so very tragic and shocking .
This whole trip ........ end to end stuff ......... the best to the worst......... and even the best and the worst actually combined .............
I guess just the vastness of it all and the overwhelming generosity of people along the way are a couple of enduring feelings right now.
I drove for 3 hours in South Dakota at night and only saw one other car............. hundreds of miles no people incredible.........
One of the Motel owners I talked to along the way in Wyoming would not accept payment........... listened to a couple of my silly tales at midnight ........... had a peek at some of the photographs and then completely unexpectedly and without me requesting it ......... just decided I should stay for free..................
People whose houses were totally destroyed by the tornado continually offered to share their limited food and drink with me ......... even though clearly I should have been offering material support to them not the other way round .........
Some families eating in cafes when approached about being photographed would just casually agree without really being bothered to engage in why........ they were just relaxed and generous.
The owner of a diner in Oregon just agreed to allow us to hang out with him and his employees no big fuss.............
I have really loved this generosity ..............
I have loved the vastness ......... if been goin a little crazy in it.
Its back to my usual life......... Now I am back at the airport....... running late for a flight as ever .......... just about to be wheels up Atlanta :-)))))))

PS............ Here above is a shot of one of the Motels along the way that just happens to be lying about on the desk top .......... having depressing issues with confusion over my flight booking wasting those precious last seconds......... gotta run......... Wheel up in the big ATL.......
