If you watch the video below you will see the complete madness of this Santacon meet-up in Washington Sq....... it really was nutz......... and it got even more mad with people crowd surfing and more just totally crazed behavior ........ I have stuff that captures the over the top celebrations and crazy antics....... but I prefer it when I have managed to catch quieter moments of real connection they feel more 'real' for me........ than the animated over ventilated celebrations....... people were genuinely having a great time but the images feel almost too orchestrated and self conscious........ even though it wasn't like that at all .......... the whole thing was actually really rather spontaneous and really wasn't that planned to any noticeable degree............ so its probably only me that finds scenes off the main stage more engaging and 'real' than the actual party madness scenes.............
Nice one! I prefer the off stage shots myself, this pic is a moment of genuine engagement, or at least appears to be, while including a small amount of broken glass in the frame lets me figure out for myself that there might have been a degree of manic mayhem.. you should run a caption competition for this shot!! ;-) ... ill get the ball running with a simple "good job santa.. see you next year!"[reply]Brian Bateson @ December 15, 2009, 7:12 am
