I flew into Denver Colorado today....... Bizarrely....... Its warmer here than Miami....... really a lot warmer........ But thats not hard........ I watched the movie Whiteout on the flight...... a woman cop at the South Pole........ it reminded me of being in Miami........ One character loses fingers to frost bite ....... I think....... after staying in the River Palace Hotel Downtown Miami..........
For some reason I have got a lot more interested in making shots of birds recently.......... maybe its cos of all the flying I am doin myself......... :-))
When I was in Miami.......... I made this image of birds......... it was dusk the birds were all massing above the main shopping parade........ probably just roosting in the trees......... but maybe they were getting ready to fly further South......... as lets face it Miami just was'nt warm enough for them (or me) ........... certainly the way they flocked, swirled together then all landed then all took off together reminded me of the behavior of flocks of starlings in my home town of Birmingham in Britain just before they were heading South for the winter.

Wooow its not every day you read a tweet like that or indeed have it happen.......... 22 pages of a magazine devoted to showing and discussing my photographs and slightly crazy life....... :-)) Woow I nearly fell over in the line to pick up my rental car.......... hehehe....... 22 pages..... not to mention the front and back cover...... and title page........ hehehe........ bit of a collectors item me thinks....... hehehe....... well for me at least........... :-))
The article is written by Lynda C.Ward. She is a writer with a serious interest in philosophy and photography....... I met her quite by chance in Boston........... and we have been corresponding since then.......( you may recall sometimes see she is contributing on this blog chat) ....... and we have done a fair few exhaustive Skype interviews and other calls.......... me in Paris and London and her in North Carolina ........ as I was committed to working in Europe when she wanted to do the research interviews......... anyway I am delighted that she has put this thing together..........
Apparently these magazines are out....... Ive not seen one myself yet but I am pretty excited to do so.........

I marvel that despite the mind numbing pain being witnessed there are people so focused in their rescue efforts that they are able to maintain and stand, deliver.
