Reed Timmer from storm Chasers Drives the Dominator into Hurricane Irene I read that head line and although I thought those guys are crazy....... I just was not that surprised........cos I know those guys..... and cos those guys and Reed in particular really are crazy ...... in a good way.......... yes...... they are totally and utterly nutz .......... but it is fantastic to hang with them...... I had that privilege a couple of weeks back ........ I had a chance to get to feel the adrenaline and their passion for the storms .......... and see close up the work of studying this kind of extreme weather ........ and of course see them warning people and educating folks .......... and just making amazing TV.

This picture I made at the time shows Reed and the Dominator tracking a major storm...... Reed has stepped out into the pouring rain to look at the sky and decide how to proceed.

Just as tonight hurricane Irene is making its way up the East Coast of the US and Reed and the boys are moving into position to intercept this mighty hurricane ......... I have a set of pictures appearing in todays Sunday Times Magazine (UK) of Reed and the whole crew. It shows the people behind Storm Chasers on Discovery Channel at work and also the terrible effects of massive storms and tornados. My pictures are with a great article written by Christina Lamb ........ If you are living in the UK you should pop out and get The Sunday Times today .......... or if you are living anywhere else you can find it on line here : http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/Magazine/

Good luck to Reed and all the Dominator crew and its whole convoy......... they are great guys ......... I really wish them well in this........... and all their dangerous escapades.

Good luck too to those not choosing to be in the path of Hurricane Irene but just find its coming towards their homes. I really hope everyone stays safe and finds the hurricane passes without too much damage to ..... or drama for ..... their homes and property.

Hey everyone ......... Stay safe out there tonight .............
