Im back in my usual slightly hassley life ....... I was shooting in DC today now Im on a Delta flight - flying down to the big ATL to see Matt tonight and to shoot again tomorrow....... Its all a bit different from the calm projected in these sheep pictures...... its great to have time to kick back like I\'ve had in the last couple of weeks......... but it is slightly disabling..... time off is great but you lose the ability to really roll............. When you just zap about all the time nothing is too much hassle or too demanding..... when you have just had two weeks off........ shooting then zapping to the airport....... then shooting the next day then dashing to the airport again...... all seems a bit demanding and a bit of a stress............... hehehe....... Im not complaining really....... its just on my Zen meditation and sheep herding course for beginners all you could hear was the gentle bleating of sheep and the constant gnawing of their finger nails by students like myself deprived of the internet...... hehehe........
I like this image. I feel sorry for the sheep straggling behind.[reply]sherri @ July 15, 2008, 2:13 am
Yeah Sherri..... it is literally...... the tragic lost sheep.... not keeping up with the herd.....gives the image a bit of pathos...... this particular sheep had recently had a broken leg and was having a bit of a problem keeping up....... but you will be glad to know it caught up in the end.....
I love the weird blue hairstyle it has, maybe it has been ostracised for its taste in Indy music![reply]The Bloated Belly Dancer @ July 15, 2008, 4:53 am
I think Its a fan of New Order..... and has a 'Blue Monday' thing going on..... mind you I love the nibbled slightly distressed ear look myself I think that will take over from body piercing as 'the latest thing'......

er, isn't it usually their rears that get marked with dye when the ram mounts them? Then they know who mated with who... what was this sheep doing???[reply]Matt @ July 15, 2008, 6:27 am
I wasn't even sure what Matt was on about here...... but apparently the Ram has some kind of farmer fitted spray paint marker device on his chest when he humps the female...... apparently its called a raddle?.....What concerns me is.... How does Matt know this stuff?.....Where is he getting this stuff from?..... All Im saying is just occasionally I wonder?...... Anyway Matt is concerned the Ram may have got muddled about which end of the sheep he was supposed to be humping... I guess if you are doing the whole flock in one go... you are gonna get muddled or maybe go for some variety occasionally....... hehehe...

Yes a raddle... see http://www.donaghys.com/fileadmin/downloads/BAPM/RamHarnessFactw.pdf

Quick remedy (doesn't always work): To peel back the muddy surface, drop this baby into Photoshop, Image/Adjustments/Auto Levels...Ping!
I once worked with sheep many moons ago. I had to count them...literally! Of course, I always fell asleep on the job...[reply]The Photoshop Guy @ July 15, 2008, 12:56 pm

I really like the dark tones in this image. Altho the straggling sheep seems a little lost..it works well in the composition. I like it!!![reply]Marcie @ July 15, 2008, 2:11 pm
I wondered where you were these last weeks... I'm concerned that my mentor is seeking alternative works in the sheep world ;-) I've been a little awol collecting boarding passes all over, but my feet are firmly on the ground back in LA. Now looking up any local classes for herding but the only classes I can find are herding blond americans which there are plenty of here... XX[reply]Barry J. @ July 16, 2008, 3:35 pm
