More in the Jezblog 'my own shoes' series ............. this time Jez is modeling heavy duty metal toe work boots on a visit to a mine ......... this stuff will be all the rage in the Fall shows ........
I am wearing a ton of mega safety gear the mine operator insists on........ these guys were mega serious on safety........ the training in using the respirator was very thorough......... alarming and reassuring all at once........
In the picture...... I am in the 'man trip'....... a mixture between a cage and a tiny train carriage that takes you the bumpy 5 miles to the coal face.....
I must sleep mines are so tiring........... I always come away from an underground visit to a mine with renewed respect and liking for miners.......... not sure I could do this everyday....... but more tomorrow.......

PS...... Sorry to anyone attempting to speak to me on the phone...... the cell signal is pretty poor in West Virginia anyway...... and by the time you are down the mines....... hehehe........ even Apple technology can't deal with that yet :-))

Yeah mines are heavy duty......... but can make mega pictures if you can overcome the inherent limitations of the place......You should see the rest of it....... some is totally mega..... but the real stuff must go to the client !!! :-))

funnily enough I was just looking at some pictures of me shooting in an open cast mine ..... shot in Feb 09....... wearing the said Jazzy Green Jacket...... I'll have to get them off K's iphone and put them on facebook....... :-))
