After all the craziness and travel of yesterday and the day before......... I had finally got a nice bed instead of an airplane........ I would have put the chances of me being up to shoot the dawn light this morning at zero.......... and yet........ and yet ..... there is always the wild card of my alarm clock still set at 5-30 am from the day before......... going off in my camera bag....... ( er..... you can tell I sleep with the cameras pressed closed to my person :-)) )........
It was still pitch dark........ the power has gone out because of storms in the night......... so I fiddle a bit with my short wave radio in a vain attempt to pick up the BBC ....... but the only English I can find spoken....... that is not religious stuff starting every other sentence with "And the Lord Spake unto them..... bla blah blah...... Make cheques payable to........" is weirdly being broadcast from China..... CRI ........ International Radio China...... " Today the peoples action committee against waste thanked the peoples organizing group against waste for its memorable work on the newly completed .... blah blah blah......."
Any way it was just about interesting enough to keep me awake until the dawn light was almost hinting at coming through my curtains....... I got up to step outside into the magical world of a Central American dawn........... :-))

It looks better than my Cornwall sunrise.... Went to get cameras out of the car... TOTAL battery failure. Couldn't open it at all.... Sun rose... cameras still locked in (French) car....Grrrrr!!!! Buying Japanese next time!

Yes more than a a little ....... Although there are some advantages to 23rd St....... like I find generally I have a fair few less biting insects round there than here....... the drastic thunder in the night whivh seems to be every night is exciting and I like it at the moment.... but might start to get you down if it the was normal thing instead of actually sleeping........ :-))
